With the online messaging platforms and video call options, Roots makes for easy and prompt communication as well as accessible appointment options that work with my busy schedule. The turnaround time for prescription refill requests is super quick and unlike experiences at other psych offices I’ve never had a day of missing medications due to them. Kristin Serrano listens well, is super kind, and helps with all aspects of figuring out the best treatments for me. I have always felt comfortable to share my experiences, concerns, and questions with her without feeling bothersome. Highly recommend, I’ve never had a better psych place!

I am so grateful I found Roots Behavioral Health! Every single member of their medical and behavioral health teams have been incredible. They each have their own talents they bring to the table, and it has enriched my life and experience here to be able to interact with them. I feel so taken care of and like someone really cares about how I am and my wellness. It’s incredible to have an office locally that uses alternative therapies and new research. Highly recommend Roots for all things wellness and mental health!

The provider team is incredible! 5/5 -- The front desk has room for improvement. I stay with Roots because of the provider team, but dread communicating with the front desk. There is seldom a time where a phone call gets answered, leaving only the messaging format. Messages have gone unanswered, appointment communications have gone poorly, and overall if I could skip interacting with them at all, I would. The nature of reasons patients come to Roots is delicate, and the front desk staff, particularly Natalie, could serve well with empathy led customer service training. Coming to Roots for appointments, making refill requests and overall managing condition is hard enough. My only gripe is that the front desk staff making it that much harder.

I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to have been referred to Roots from my previous doctor. Dr. McKay, the front desk staff, and the medical team have been nothing short of fantastic in every aspect. Whether it's prompt messaging, a doctor who truly listens and (shocker, I know) actually wants me to get better. P.S Thank you for brightening my day Sherry!

Roots has been the only medical facility that makes me feel like they truly care about my wellness and mental health. I'm so thankful to them and it has been truly life changing for me. Pls see them if you are having issues with trauma in your life. They will help you understand and get through it all. Take care everyone out there!

I have had an enjoyable experience since transitioning my care to Roots. Pros: •Caring providers who really listen •Snacks and Stickers •Calm, quiet, and welcoming atmosphere. •Easy scheduling through a text app. The schedulers respond very quickly. Cons: •They have a strict late arrival policy. If you don’t arrive within 10 minutes, you won’t be seen. I learned this the hard way when I was 11 minutes late, but with any new relationship, now that I understand the rules, I just make sure to allow for enough time to arrive early. •Be aware that the session can run later than anticipated so it sometimes can be difficult if you are trying to arrange a ride home. • It can be difficult to get someone on the phone, but again, they usually respond quickly via the text app.

I originally discovered Roots in 2020 when I finished my first outpatient therapy program. I reached out to schedule a consultation and they responded within 24hrs! Melissa Livingston was my original PA and was very sweet and patient with me. Due to other circumstances I ended up postponing KAP until 2023, when I reached back out to Roots again. Just as in 2020, they were responsive, friendly, patient, kind, and very in demand. Melissa was assigned to me again and we expedited the onboarding. Note, they do make sure you are medically cleared for KAP and you will have to go see your primary doctor for a health assessment. I’m currently enrolled in the KAP program and absolutely love it. The staff is amazing, the ambiance of the rooms and office are soothing and the environment is comfortable and safe. I highly recommend KAP, and Roots specifically, for anyone that is struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc. and see no other options. I’ve tried various alternatives, recreationally and medically, and this has been the overall best experience of my 31 years so far. The money is worth it and heads up…Insurance sucks.
